The core of vision improvement is learning practices and integrating them through recreating better vision habits. The foundation for these improvements lies in consistency, awareness, confidence and relaxation and in cultivating those qualities to your benefit. The biggest challenges often are in transforming these practices into meaningful vision experiences for you.

This is a four week class meeting for 1 ½ hours. Each session we will take basic practices and dive deeply into the physical, emotional, mental and playful components specific to each participant. One of the goals is to discover what makes one or more practices pop your vision and visual system.. Your insights are yours to share as you wish. Classes will be recorded so you can access the replays for future reference.

During class we will have time to practice together, enter break out rooms to share and assist each other in refining the process, and find the adaptations that assist you to achieve improvement with joy, insight and satisfaction.

There will be time to explore concepts as they apply to myopia, presbyopia and other conditions. During our time together you will develop your own “prescription of practices” and learn how to continue refining those as vision improves and your enthusiasm grows so that you Practice What Matters to you.

Throughout the years of personal study with the Bates Method, I’ve had my own struggles with creating a consistency of doing the practices. Even so my vision continued to improve with frequent periods of plateauing and being at a loss of what to do next. Then there were a number of times I felt I had to set aside my vision improvement for what seemed “more important” and then later deal with guilt. My goal in this course is to empower each student to make those transformations through meaningful practice: experimenting with time, finding support in the group energy, cultivating playfulness and replacing self-doubt with confidence in one’s own body wisdom. When does the course start and finish?
The course spans from September 15th to September 24th, 2025. We meet on Mondays and Wednesdays for 2 weeks at 9:00am Pacific / 12:00pm Eastern.
